new hello kitty cake

In between other things, I also had to do two other cakes today. This is the first one of the day.
I hope Maria loves her cake and that she has a wonderful birthday party.

getting ready for rebeca's party - part 6

Jello oranges

I am going to cut these in half and use them on the desert table. I am sure the kids will love them. My daughter loves jello.
This is what you need to make them:
jello and about 2 kg of oranges
You need to prepare the jello according to the directions given on the box and cut your oranges in half and empty them completely. Then, poor the jello mix into each orange cavity and refrigerate it. You can leave it as such, or cut it in half again once they are done.

Pink & orange cupcakes

I bought the cupcakes. I did not make them. I just decorated them to tie in with the theme.
These cupcakes are going on the sweets table as well.

Check out my cupcake wrappers:)) still sticking to the theme:)

Name banner

I just finished this name banner for Rebeca. I think it turned out great!
To make this I used A4 colored paper, ribbon, hot pink glitter glue, a stapler and diamond stickers. oh and black marker for the zebra paper, as I was not able to find it anywhere, so I had to make it myself.

Here is a close up

cakes from this weekend

Although sick and extremely tired I did manage to make the following cakes and two more that were repeating themselves in design, therefore didn't make it in front of the camera:)

Just a simple round cake that I squeezed in at the last moment. I love the color combination and I also got to try out a new cutter that Alina, my friend, brought me.

Not a Hannah Montana guitar cake:)

A very colorful design, made for an engagement party.

And a pink castle for a little princess.

Spa towel cake

This Friday, Rebeca's school hosted a ball and each class offered something to be auctioned at the ball, the money raised from this auction being used to give scholarships to children that do not have the opportunity to go to this school.
Our class donated this relaxation/ Spa package, and I was the one who made it.
This towel cake includes:
  • 6 towels, 3 different sizes
  • 1 relaxation CD
  • 1 candle
  • incense
  • BIO bath salt
  • bath essential oils
  • BIO soap
  • several sauna items (loofah sponge, massage tool, etc)
  • various decorating items, such as ribbons, shells, etc

Candy topiary
I have been asked by Raychel from My creative way to be a guest blogger and make a tutorial for her readers. Since I am making things for Rebeca's party I decided to make a photo tutorial of this candy topiary. I will be making two of these and use them on a candy/sweets table I'll be setting up at her party.
They are very easy and fun to make.
If you want to see how I made this one and read the tutorial please click here.

Thank you so much Raychel for inviting me. I loved being a part of this.

two tier cake

Yesterday I picked up from the airport my good and old friend Alina who returned from Canada. She brought me several cake goodies and so today I eagerly tried out one of them. I am talking about the scroll leaf cutter that I used on the bottom tier on black fondant.
Thank you Alina and Adi for my gifts.
The design of this cake is inspired from one I have saved on my computer for more than a year now. Unfortunately I cannot give credit to anyone as I do not remember where I first saw it.
I love it though.

Totto cake

This is Totto, a mascot that I had to make today. Unfortunately, it should have been pink. I so did not get that from the picture I took as a guide. I thought it was light purple:)
